Call for Proposals

 

What question did you face? What issue did you tackle?  Did you come up with a solution or implement a strategy with impactful results? We want you to facilitate at the innovate 2025 conference on February 24 and 25, 2025.  

The innovate conference highlights tools, strategies and ideas that help attendees think in new ways to improve and strengthen an existing program, practice or process to ensure student success. It’s an opportunity to access innovative ideas, reflect on new thinking and explore creative practices.

There will be three different points throughout the innovate 2025 session submission process when we will score proposals and send out acceptances or provide feedback on improvement. Potential facilitators who don’t receive an acceptance, can resubmit their proposal based on the feedback. The submission window will remain open until October 15 as long as there is space for sessions after the first two rounds.

It’s a two-step process! Submit information via the innovate 2025 session submission form and record or upload your video to Flipgrid.

THE INNOVATE CONFERENCE WILL INCLUDE:

  • SPARK: 25-minute session will provide a quick hit to attendees on a particular topic, tool or strategy.
  • IGNITE: 50-minute session will provide an exploration of topic, tools or strategies with ideas for implementation.
  • LAUNCH: 75-minute session will provide an in-depth look of a topic or strategy with implementation and impact considerations.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE?

  • Pick a content area: leadership, technology, culture, belonging, wellness or design.
  • Complete the submission form found on the innovate website. Create a 60-second video directly on Flip; OR upload a previously recorded video (see tips below). Our content team will use this information to approve session. The video will also be used for promotional purposes.

WANT YOUR SESSION TO GET SELECTED? YOU MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Why is your practice INNOVATIVE?
  • What will people LEARN?
  • What will people DO?
  • What will people APPLY?

But more importantly, let your PERSONALITY shine through.

TIPS FOR SHOOTING A VIDEO ON YOUR PHONE:
 

  • Shoot horizontal, not vertical. Vertical may feel natural but will result with two black bars on either side of the screen.
  • If you don’t have a selfie stick, tripod or a makeshift one, use both hands and lock your elbows into your body for extra stability.
  • Try to use even lighting. Check your lighting and adjust the angle to capture the best shot.
  • Minimize background and environmental noise. It’s not necessary to add music or graphics to your video.
  • Please upload a MP4 or MOV file type.
  • Please don't add any images or words to your video so we can add captioning.

Sessions will be reviewed in five categories:

Learn: The session topic aligns with current trends and innovate’s focus areas and is original offering fresh perspective and insights.
The session will engage a diverse audience and stimulate meaningful discussions. 
Engage: The session is likely to foster interactivity and engagement.
It will captivate attendees' interest involving them in the learning process and promote curiosity, meaningful dialogue and exchange of ideas.
Apply: The session utilizes current issues, research findings, concepts and/or real-world applications that attendees can apply to their current role.
The session encourages active participation and engagement.
Flexibility: Session and/or facilitator(s) are flexible to adapt to attendees’ needs and learning styles.
Video Submission: The high-quality, dynamic and engaging video submitted explains the relevance of the session and what attendees will gain.
